The Clinical Coach

TOS vs Cervical Radiculopathy

T was told to consider a different career. By someone who spent eleven minutes with her.

That advice was clinically unfounded, and it was a serious intervention delivered casually. When you tell a 35-year-old to abandon fifteen years of skill and her entire income, you have made a recommendation with more life impact than most surgeries, and you had better be certain.

T responded faster than I expected, and I want to be honest about why. She caught it early by TOS standards. Five months sounds long. In this condition, five months is nothing. Most nTOS patients I see have been symptomatic for two or three years and have already lost tissue.

Practice Tips

Act, don’t react.

  • Manage your time like a patient: If it’s not in your calendar you probably won’t do it. Last year I had 33 docs reach out for last minute CE’s. This year, they are getting ahead and spending more time in their practice or with their family. If you haven’t completed any CE’s, then the TCC Membership is for you. Now you can access past issues and complete them for credit!

  • What doesn’t get tracked does not grow: If you are familiar with working out, then you know that the best way to grow is to keep track of what you are doing, and what’s working. So then why aren’t you tracking all your outputs in business??

  • Measure progress by leverage. Not by how many hours you are working. If you have to work more to make more, your leverage is not as good as you think it is. I’ll be talking about leverage in our next TCC Mastermind. If you are a member, you’ll get immediate access to it.

That’s it for this week.

Keep showing up, we’ll keep cheering you on — and as always, level up! 🏃‍♂️
